Export Certificate for Plants and Pets Instructions

Plants and pets (dogs, cats and domesticated birds) to be exported to Brazil must have a phytosanitary certificate (plants) or health certificate, and vaccination certificate against rabies in the case of cats and dogs.

1 - The combined Export and Health Certificate, obtained from the above offices of the Ministry of Agriculture must be legalized by this Embassy, for both animals and plants.

2 - The vaccination certificate against rabies for cats and dogs over three months of age must also be stamped by this Embassy. The vaccination must be carried out no less than 30 days and no more than 12 months prior to the export to Brazil.

The legalization fee is SR 67.50 (sixteen seven Riyals). Payment is by cash.

Due to the short validity of the Certificate obtained from the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Agriculture (72 hours), the legalization process is a same-day service. Documents must therefore be lodged personally, preferably before 1 pm.

3 - To export to Brazil any other kind of animal, a previous license issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture is required. There are restrictions on the importation of wild exotic birds, for which a previous license issued by the Agency for the Protection of Brazilian Wildlife is required.
